Also in the trees was this medium-sized toucan, the Chestnut-eared Aracari, offering us a lovely close-up.

Recent rain had him feeling damp, so he shook to whip off the droplets.

Looking more disheveled, but drier, he walked up the tree to higher ground.

Rain would continue off and on through the afternoon, but it didn’t dampen our spirits as we headed out to a place I had looked forward to the entire trip…
