Why subscribe?

After 9.5 years and 3400 daily emails to several hundred followers, I’ve changed my platform from MailChimp to Substack.

A new name to go with the new look: PhotoSynthesis. Using my photos, I show you the world I wander — its plants, birds, wildlife, and landscapes. And tell you a story — about the species, my adventures, or a bit of both. An offering that ranges from informative to funny, and sometimes contains cliffhangers from one day to the next. A bit of beauty to start your day.

Subscription Options:

Free: Daily email, Post comments.

Monthly Subscriber, $5/mo: All of the above plus monthly Zoom Bird Chat with me and other paid subscribers; Access to full archive.

Yearly Subscriber, $50/yr ($4.17/mo): All of the above.

Founding Member, $100. All of the above plus a dye-infused metal print of one of my photos.

A portion of subscription fees will go to environmental conservation charities in countries I visit that year.
